Setting Up a Softphone

This guide provides instructions for setting up the CallConnect Softphone, which allows employees to make and receive calls using their computer or mobile device.


Step 1: Installing the Softphone Application

  1. Download the CallConnect Softphone App

    • Windows/macOS: Download the CallConnect Desktop Client from the company’s software portal.
    • Mobile (iOS/Android): Install the CallConnect Mobile App from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Install and Launch the App

    • Follow the installation prompts for your device.
    • Open the application once installed.
  3. Log in to Your Account

    • Enter your assigned username and password.
    • If Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required, approve the login request.

Step 2: Configuring Softphone Settings

  1. Verify Audio Devices

    • Ensure your headset, microphone, and speakers are properly connected.
    • Go to Settings > Audio and select the correct input/output devices.
  2. Enable Call Forwarding (Optional)

    • Navigate to Settings > Call Forwarding to forward calls to another number.
  3. Set Up Voicemail

    • Press the Voicemail button or dial the voicemail access number.
    • Follow the prompts to record a greeting and set up your PIN.

Step 3: Making and Receiving Calls

  • To make a call: Enter the phone number in the dialer and press Call.
  • To receive a call: Click Answer when a call notification appears.
  • To mute/unmute: Use the microphone button in the app.
  • To put a call on hold: Click the Hold button.
  • To transfer a call: Select Transfer, enter the recipient’s number, and confirm.
