Minor Technology Upgrade Request

Use this service to request a minor technology upgrade project with a limited scope, defined business need, and manageable level of effort. These projects typically involve upgrading an existing technology rather than implementing a completely new enterprise-wide solution.

Examples include upgrading a small number of servers, replacing network equipment, upgrading software or operating systems, refreshing department-level hardware, or making a minor technology enhancement.

IT will review the request to confirm the scope, complexity, resources, priority, and whether the request is appropriate for a small project.

Request Process:

  1. IT reviews the request and validates the project scope.
  2. Infrastructure Reviews Project 
  3. IT Leadership approves project

Typical Characteristics:

  • Limited scope
  • Existing technology is being upgraded rather than replaced with an entirely new solution
  • Limited number of users, systems, or locations
  • Minimal integrations or dependencies
  • Low to moderate risk
  • Typically completed within 30–90 days
  • Can generally be completed using existing IT resources

Out of Scope:

Enterprise-wide technology upgrades, major system replacements, large infrastructure initiatives, complex integrations, and upgrades requiring significant organizational change should be submitted through the appropriate Large Technology Upgrade Project or other IT project request.
